Everyone needs a coffee break from time to time. And that includes shelter dogs, the lovable puppers in search of their forever home. That’s why the Kitsap Humane Society in Washington created the Puppuccino Pals program. Each week, a different shelter dog gets to go on an excursion to the nearby Starbucks for puppuccinos and belly rubs.

Starbucks Reserve. Fancy

First reported by The Dodo – the website for animal lovers that I pretend to think is silly though my outbound text messages to my wife say otherwise – the program started in April and is two-fold:

Every Tuesday, volunteer Molly Clark takes one of the shelter’s dogs to the local Starbucks for a delicious Puppuccino. (It’s on the chain’s “secret menu” and is just a small cup filled with whipped cream.)

Not only does the dog get to take a break from the shelter and enjoy a car ride and a treat, the Starbucks also posts signs telling customers about the dog of the week, in hopes that they might decide to adopt him.

According to their website, the Kitsap Humane Society has rehomed 3,638 pets this year alone.

And then there’s these goofballs

The KHS has posted pictures of all the whip cream loving dogos on their Instagram, so go check them out and work yourself into a mushy cuteness overload. Then, consider adopting a little fuzzy friend of your own by visiting the KHS or finding an animal in need of a home at Adopt-A-Pet.
