The 2014 Mid-Atlantic Northeast Coffee Conference (aka MANE) is gearing up to take place November 6th-8th in Providence, Rhode Island. This year’s event, organized by New Harvest Coffee Roasters, promises to be among the very best in MANE’s eight-year history, featuring a screening of the popular industry doc “A Film About Coffee“, presentations and panels featuring specialty coffee luminaries, a series of parties and evening events, and a keynote address by Tim Wendelboe, of the eponymous Tim Wendelboe Kaffe in Oslo, Norway.
Sprudge.com’s own Alex Bernson will lead a panel on Friday, November 7th, on the topic of “Coffee Business Start-Ups”, with panel guests Tim Wendelboe, Eileen Rinaldi (Ritual Coffee), John Moore (Nobletree Coffee), Jaime van Schyndel (Barismo), and Noelle Archibald (Lamplighter Coffee Roasters). Other highly anticipated talks include a presentation on Rwanda from Marcus Young of Sustainable Harvest, a restaurant coffee panel featuring Mr. Wendelboe and Teresa von Fuchs (Irving Farm), and a presentation on “The History of Espresso” from storied machine maestro John Blackwell of La Marzocco USA.
A full list of presenters, panels, and workshops is available here. Registration for this event is now open! Join us at MANE this November, because if the talks or panels can’t sway you, there’s really nothing better than New England in the fall.
