Oakland’s Royal Coffee is hitting the road for a series of educational events across Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Titled “Crown on the Road,” the coffee importer’s month-long trip will include 10 engagements between October 12th and November 10th, with each event covering a different topic relating to coffee tasting or some aspect of the supply chain. And the best part is, every event is free to attend.
Crown on the Road is a collaboration between Royal and a handful of big names both in and out of the coffee industry. Counter Culture, Swiss Water, and Café Granja la Esperanza are all teaming up with Royal and beer industry folks like Good Beer Hunting, Almanac Beer Co, and Trumer Pils to create a series of unique tasting experiences. Event topics include: Varietal Tastings with Café Granja la Esperanza; Sensory Signals: Identifying Cause and Effect on Common Coffee Flavor Markers; and Water, Coffee, Beer, and Flavor: A Tasting and Panel Discussion.
A full list of event topics, dates, and locations can be found via Royal’s website, and more information about each event can be found in its respective Eventbrite page. If you are planning on attending an event, make sure to RSVP early, because though admission is free, space is extremely limited and spots will fill up fast.
