Online Coffee Events Happening This Week: May 11 – May 17th.
We’re marching through May with ever so many more online coffee events. Consider mixing it up with coffee-themed virtual backgrounds. These virtual meet-ups are a welcome respite from binging the second season of Dead To Me.
Here are a few online events going on that you can participate in from home.
About: Join Stephen James Davidson (Strange Bird Podcast, Ally Coffee) for a community coffee break every morning at 9AM PST on Zoom!
Coffee Break was created by Anderson Stockdale (Bellwether Coffee). She reached out to see if I would like to help out and I said yes and we have been collaborating since.
For me, hosting Coffee Break is only as important as those who join in and want to participate. I need this right now and it seems others do too. During this time of social distancing, it seems more important than ever to come together by any means and support one another by hanging out, listening to each other, sharing our lives and if you have a few bucks to spare, donating to one of the coffee companies we support each day or buying their merchandise. It has become a beautiful community that I hope continues to grow.

COVID-19’s Impact On Specialty Coffee Webinar with Boot Coffee
About: Willem Boot and the team at Boot Coffee are hosting weekly webinars on Mondays at 8AM PST.
We are recording each webinar and hosting the recordings on CoffeeCampus.com/blog.
In the coming weeks, we are going to host other speakers, attempt to make it more of a conversational round-table, and plan to cover the following topics amongst others.

Social Distancing Pseudo Pub Trivia with Jackson O’Brien

No Filter Coffee Festival (May 12-16)
About: Over the course of this four-day event, coffee professionals will take to Insta airwaves to offer the viewing public virtual coffee classes, roasting demos, giveaways, and so much more (y’know, all the stuff you’d expect to see at a coffee fest, but online). The schedule includes Brewing Espresso at Home hosted by Black & White Coffee’s Lem Butler, Sustainability & Coffee: A Virtual Coffee Chat by Counter Culture, COVID-19 and the Coffee Price Crisis hosted by 1000 Faces Coffee with special guest Felipe Croce of FAF Coffee Brazil, a look behind the scenes at a Peruvian coffee farm with Pure Intentions Coffee, and so much more.

Virtual Coffee Tasting With Counter Culture Coffee
About: A new Instagram Live and virtual coffee tasting with CCC’s coffee team all over the country—they’ll be diving into a particular coffee each week and why it’s special, doing demos, and answering questions from viewers on Instagram.

The Crown: Royal Coffee Lab & Tasting Room Presents “What’s Happening In Ethiopia?”
About: Join us for an update on the current state of affairs in Ethiopia featuring Royal Coffee’s CEO Max Nicholas-Fulmer, East Africa Buyer and Junior Trader, Caitlin McCarthy-Garcia, and Royal Coffee Representative, Haile Andualem, who is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Haile will share what’s been happening in the birthplace of coffee, and we will discuss what this means for coffee from this origin and how to plan your inventory accordingly.
