YouTube personality Paul Gale is enjoying a touch of the virus this morning, as his video on “Why Starbucks Spells Your Name Wrong” ping-pongs around the internet. It is no doubt cluttering your Facebook feed at this very moment.
“I’m the one who writes your name in black marker on your Starbucks cup. I probably write around five hundred names everyday,” Gale says in the video.”Allow me to explain why: I’m fucking with you.”
Starbucks is likely appalled, and while we imagine the use of the company’s logos was unsanctioned, this is a fine video: it’s funny, it’s charming, the characters who play befuddled customers are amazing.
Amazing.
But we think the video can be even better with a different soundtrack. It cuts out all the unnecessary weird barista talking and puts the focus on the customers. Because they are the true stars.
